Clinical Trial I

Ketoprofen TDDS Plaster VS Ketoprofen Oral administration

Ketoprofen Absorption by Muscle and Tendon after Topical or Oral Administration in Patients Undergoing Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Study Design and Sampling

Ketoprofen patches were applied topically in 21 patients, and the drug was administered orally to six patients. Another 10 patients served as the control group and were not given any drug.

In the oral group, a single sustained-release capsule containing 150 mg of ketoprofen was administered after dinner at 14 h before surgery.

TARGET:

  • By developing a transdermal system, ketoprofen can directly pass through the  skin  and reach the joint tissues  of painful site.
  • By delivering ketoprofen in a continuous manner through the skin, ketoprofen concentration in the diseased tissue site can be maintained and better anti-inflammatory can be achieved.

FAST ONSET:

  • Ketoprofen TDDS Plaster can rapidly achieved effective and higher tissue levels, as well as can attain higher drug concentration at local tissues.

One pharmacokinetics study between Ketoprofen Plaster and Ketoprofen SR Capsule showed at 1hr.  after  plaster application, the ketoprofen concentrations in muscle and tendon were similar to those  found  at 14hr. after oral administration.
